Dredging Pipe Floats, Marine Buoys & Floating Barriers Engineered for Real Water Projects

Shandong Binzhou Juhua Rubber & Plastic Co., Ltd. (Juhua / Giant Rubber) designs and rotationally moulds polyethylene flotation equipment for dredging contractors, port operators, mining companies and water-infrastructure engineers.

Our production line uses variable-frequency speed control, electronic automatic temperature measurement and modern process lines, so every float shell is moulded with consistent wall thickness. Strict, standardised production gives our floats excellent interchangeability — replacement units fit pipelines already in service, batch after batch.

We work to one principle: quality first, reputation first, service first. That is why we size each float to your pipe, your medium and your site, instead of selling a one-size catalogue item.

  • UV-stabilised polyethylene that never rusts in seawater
  • Sized to pipe OD, slurry density & freeboard
  • Standardised moulds for interchangeable spares
  • Floats, buoys, barriers, pipeline & rubber hose from one source

Industry Applications

Proven in Dredging, Port & Water-Infrastructure Projects

Each environment loads a floating pipeline differently — currents, waves, slurry density and vessel traffic. Here is where our flotation systems work every day.

01 / PORTS

Ports & Harbors

Keep discharge pipelines stable and visible during berth expansion and maintenance dredging, while buoys mark safe channels for passing vessels.

Pipe floats supporting a long sand discharge line for land reclamation
02 / RECLAMATION

Land Reclamation

Stable buoyancy for long sand-discharge lines from dredgers to large-scale reclamation sites.

Engineer's Rule of Thumb

How Much Buoyancy Does a Floating Pipeline Need?

The most common sizing mistake we see is calculating floats for an empty pipe. Size for the working condition — pipe full of slurry — and keep a reserve margin for waves, currents and fittings.

Total float buoyancy ≥ (pipe weight + medium weight + accessories) × 1.2 – 1.3
  • Target: about ¼ of the pipe diameter above the waterline
  • Use the density of the slurry, not of clean water
  • Re-check flotation at first pump start-up

Pipeline Floats at Shore Connections: What to Check

At the water's edge, a floating pipeline changes from buoyant support to a shore-based connection. That transition can expose the pipe to rubbing, bending and changing water levels. Properly positioned pipeline floats help support the floating section, but they cannot replace a correctly designed shore connection.

Mooring Buoy Identification for Multi-Berth Port Operations

When you manage several mooring points, knowing which mooring buoy belongs to each berth matters as much as keeping it afloat. Clear identification helps your team track equipment, organise inspections and avoid confusion during maintenance.

Pipeline Floats at First Pump Start: What Should You Check?

Pipeline floats may look properly installed while the pipeline is still empty. The real test comes when pumping begins and the line reaches its working condition. Checking flotation during start-up identifies support problems before routine operation begins.

Pipeline floats — also called dredge floats or buoyancy modules — are clamp-on polyethylene bodies fitted around discharge pipes to keep a dredging or water-transfer pipeline afloat, aligned and visible on the water surface.

Total buoyancy must exceed total weight. Add the weight of the pipe itself, the material inside it (water or slurry) and all accessories. The floats should provide at least 20–30% more buoyancy than this total, so the pipeline floats properly with roughly one quarter of its diameter above water.

Yes. Polyethylene (PE) is highly resistant to saltwater corrosion, UV radiation and chemical erosion. PE floats are preferred over steel floats in marine environments because they never rust.

The warranty starts on the date the buyer hands over the goods to the investor and ends 18 months after that handover date, or 12 months after the installation date — whichever comes first.

Please share the pipe outer diameter, pipe material and wall thickness, the conveyed medium and its density, pipeline length, site conditions (river, reservoir, port or offshore), required freeboard, colour or marking needs, quantity and destination port.

Yes. Float bodies are matched to your specified pipe outer diameter, and colour, marking and fittings can be adapted to project requirements. We also produce custom rotomolded parts to customer drawings.
